Referring to our letter to you of the 22nd September 1904, we have the honour to further address you on the subject matter thereof.
In that connection we have the honour to inform you that on the 17th December 1904 we received from the Colonial Secretary of Hong Kong a letter of which, omitting formal parts, the following is a copy.
With reference to my letter of the 15th of October, I am directed to inform you that in reply to the Memorial addressed by you to the Secretary of State for the Colonies on behalf of Messrs. E. S. & Ellis Kelly, Mr. Lyttelton has authorised the Governor to award compensation to your clients to cover any expenditure which it may be proved to His Excellency's satisfaction was actually incurred by
